November 2012 - Unit C312 – We just returned from viewing C312 and OMG - it is gorgeous!!!! The cleaning ladies were there and we had a great chat with them. And it looked like they were doing a very thorough job. They said it is one of the nicest units and we can certainly see why. The renos you have done are wonderful - love the big granite counter, large new kitchen, tile work, furnishings that are very comfortable, beautiful bathroom, the bed looks so comfy and just everything you have done is very tasteful and lovingly thought of.
January 2012 -Unit C313 - Mahalo Kathy for the lovely basket of goodies. Very thoughtful and over the top! WE are enjoying the unit C313 of Derick & Jean Yu's! Nicely appointed unit with everything! They also sent a beautiful boquet of tropical flowers! It is a nice aloha Maui style that is why we love this place. Thanks again for accommodating us on our vacation. We will return and have noticed you have a few more in Bldg D coming available D204 D402 so will keep them in consideration as well. WE were in Bldg D for most of our vacation but it is really nice here in Bldg C as well. Different views but also very nicely appointed and very clean and lovely. Take Care Happy New Year as well. The flowers that were waiting for us are beautiful. What a nice gesture. The unit is beautiful and so comfortable, we really feel at home here. We will definitely be coming back! We are very excited to be lucky enough to stay there in March and know we will love it. October 2011 – Unit D402 - Hi Kathy, Thank you so much for a wonderful stay again in Maui in Kihei Akahi D402. (October 29 - November 10). We had a really nice time and got to see some spinner dolphins! Thank you for the fruit basket and the wonderful flowers that greeted us in the condo. We had a great flight there and back and really did not want to leave. We have to figure out to stay for 4 weeks!! That should do it!! Please forward our thanks to the Harris's. Also, we thanked Janice 'We Mop It" cleaners (I think that is what they are called) as some lights did not have bulbs and she came within 15 minutes to drop some off. Very good service. We hope you found the condo in excellent condition as we did the laundry, dishes, garbage, recycle before we left. My Mom and I treat it like home. Oct 2011 – Unit C619 - Aloha Kathy, I am so sorry for getting back to you late, it's been crazy over here. My husband and I just and are in the works of unpacking while starting our new jobs. We wish we were still in Maui! Anyways, mahalo for your hospitality. We really enjoyed our stay in C619, it's a beautiful place. You were very right, it was so nice to have two bathrooms! Once we got back from snorkeling each day there was no rock, paper, scissors for who gets the shower first! :) We also really appreciated your 'Welcome to Maui' newsletter. We loved the Secret Beach (see attached photos), Cafe Des Amis (delicious!), and the Ahihi-Kinau Preserve (swimming in a fish bowl!). We loved how thorough it was; when we took extra long beach breaks we were able to just refer to it (as far as Ka'anapali!) and find a good place for a late dinner. It really was a great and valuable resource, again, thank you. I'm sure you will appreciate this as you embrace social marketing such as YouTube, but I love to write reviews. I have a Yelp account and am trying to start a tripadvisor acct, too. There are a few mentions of a "Kathy" on tripadvisor for Kihei Akahi, with no contact info. I would also like to add my recommendation for those looking for a place to stay in Kihei. May I direct my review to an email address or website for you? If that's alright, please let me know what contact information you would like left in my review. I am going to try to get those reviews out in the next week! :) Mahalo, Pia

Sept 2011 - Unit C618 – Aloha Kathy, Thank you. We totally enjoyed the condo! Our first trip to Hawaii and we were wowed! We can’t wait to come back!! Your list of suggestions was most helpful. August 2011 - Unit C312 - I couldn't have been happier to be the first guests in this incredible property!
I have been going to Maui twice a year on average for the last 5 years, and this
is the best, most comfortable property I have ever stayed at in all my stays,
and what better than in central Kihei! My girlfriend and I went for a nice
getaway, but this property would work just as well for up to 4 people with the
queen sized pull out couch! The photos don't do the actual property justice -
the kitchen is very spacious and the granite counters very spacious. The
bathroom and 2-person tiled shower is fantastic, and the lanai and patio
furniture makes the best place to enjoy some Kona coffee and coconut pancakes
while overlooking the ocean first thing in the morning! The TV and IPOD dock
radio are great to listen to your favorite music, or catch up on a favourite
show with a nice glass of wine at night as you unwind in preparation for the
next days events. The beach chairs and towels, cooler and boogie board were
great additions and were very handy when you make the short walk across the
street to the beach! Kathy, their property manager, is incredible and readily
available for anything that you may need from her. Neal and Joe and INCREDIBLE
owners and also always available! I have nothing but good things to say about
them and their property and I highly recommend it! I am referring all my friends
and family here and I myself will certainly be a return guest! A beautiful
location, a beautiful property, and incredible owners - I definitely recommend

June 2011 - Unit C618 - My
husband, daughter and I had an absolutely awesome time in Kathy’s condo. We were
there about the same time four years ago and, likewise, had an awesome time. We
stayed at the condo both times and our experience was absolutely wonderful.
Everything was fully stocked and we never really had to go out to buy anything
because everything was already there, including coffee. The beach was 5 minutes
away and we really took advantage of it. One thing that Kathy did was to provide
a printout of advice as well as places to visit and dine out. Very helpful.
Would I go back? Absolutely!!!

Kathy, Well, we have been back home in
Canada for just alittle over a week now from our wonderful time in Maui. We
just wanted to say thank you very much for the use of your beautiful condo. We
really enjoyed our stay and were not at all eager to return home! Your condo
perfectly suited our needs and your artwork is beautiful -- you are so
talented! We do hope that your housekeepers found everything
to be in order at your unit. Please let us know if such was not the

May 2011 - Unit C619 - We recently stayed in Unit C619 for ten days at the end of May and I had to write you a customer satisfaction letter because our vacation was even better than we imagined! It was my first trip to Maui, and being a single mother of two teenagers, it can be pretty scary to book a trip on the VRBO. But you were terrific because you called me back , instead of emailing me and hearing your voice really reassured me. Then when you sent detailed pictures of the condo and provided lots of information about the area with so many helpful tips and suggestions that you gave me every confidence that we would get what we were paying for. In the end, we got much more, because the condo was so clean and it was fully equipped and when we had trouble with our internet, the person that takes care of the condo in Maui called right back and helped me fix it over the phone. The location of the condo Kihei Akahi is perfect, right across the street from Kamaole Beach 2 and within walking distance to Kamaole 1 and Kamaole 3, we were in the best part of Maui with no rain!! especially love the views! Sadly, the time is getting close to when we have to

to do other than start the dishwasher, the sheets in the washer and garbage
out... Your art is lovely, is there somewhere on Maui it's displayed?
Also, I'm going to check my work calendar for next Feb when we get home but if

February 2011 - Ka'anapali Shores #851 - Kathy, we made a trip to Ka’anapali Shores in
Maui, Hawaii and had a fabulous week! I wanted to get back to you
and let you know what a wonderful time we had and thank you for all your
help. Please tell Maya Dolena thank you and let her know that we
appreciate everything and the use of her condo for the week. It
was fabulous. Everything was perfect in the condo and I would highly recommend
the Ka'anapali Shores to anyone going to Maui so thank you so much. I will keep your information for when we travel back to Hawaii. -

January 2011 - Unit C618 - My daughter, my sister and I had a great girls' getaway at Kathy's condo C618 for 11 days in January. The location was perfect, right across from the beach, with views from our 6th floor lanai of both the sunrise over Haleakala and the sunset over the ocean! The condo is well-maintained and Kathy has provided all the comforts of home, including one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in. I think this is one of the best values in Kihei and we will definitely return. - Pat P. Canada

May 2010 – Unit C618 - Aloha Kathy! This vacataion has been everything we may have expected and much more!! Maui is paradise! And staying in your home gave us all the conveniences of home with a comfortable, convenient and just wonderful place to live for 2 weeks! I love the quiet, I even like the “wake-up birds” every morning! The land views BEACH, Mountains, flowers all are spectacular! Mike’s hope was to fish and fish! Had a mother and baby whale next to the boat and so what a memorable video that is! Also shore fishing he caught an octopus! We were told that is rare. The fish are so incredibly beautiful! March 2010 – Unit C616 - Hi Kathy, we are flying out late tomorrow. Is it possible to have a later check out? Whale season is at its peak. We are sitting on the lanai watching Kayakers observe a pod of whales right off shore. We went whale watching yesterday and it was amazing, the best 40 dollars spent. July 09-Unit C618-Kathy, Thank you so much for sharing your Maui condo with us. We have so enjoyed our time here. Lots of beach time with a few drives. We toured Makawao and Lahaina, the swap meet on Saturday in Kahalui (great bargains and selections), and a trip to the Humpback Whale National Marine Sanctuary (726 S. Kihei Road). That was lots of fun and informative. We checked out Big Beach (be careful but fun), Makena, and any others. Our favorite snorkel spot remains Ahihi Kinau Reserve past the love. Great spot. Turtles, a moray eel, a zebra eel, lots of tang and marvelous fish. We are looking forward to our next trip. Thank you! Jeff and Donna. PS We love your artwork.
June 09-Unit C618-Aloha Kathy! It is departure day and we leave with full hearts! Your home here is both beautiful and peaceful, and we loved being here. We were lucky to be here for the Maui Film Festival and attended 3 evenings. What fun! The people at Maui Dive Co. got s going with snorkeling. We took their snorkeling trip to Molokini and “Turtle Town” enjoyed it thoroughly and then rented the snorkeling gear with the ½ wet suit. We snorkeled every day. The water is so beautiful. Your recommendations for everything were right on and so helpful. Thank you for all the care and consideration you give to your guests comfort and happiness. Sherry

June 2009 - C618 -Hi Kathy, Julie & I had a great time staying at your condo. This was our 30th wedding anniversary and what a way to spend it. The fruit basket was yummy. This was our first time in Maui and it was great. We did the Pearl Harbor tour, horse back riding, fishing for marlins, road to road to Hana, snorkeling, parasailing, swimming & helicopter ride to Molokini. We had such a great time for the 2 weeks we stayed at your place. The people were so friendly there and what a switch. We will be doing this again and I want to thank you very much for having us stay at your condo. The best thing was to be able to go down stairs walk across the street and jump into to the ocean, which was great.

April 2009 – C618 - April 2009 – C618 - Hi Kathy and Linda, Just wanted to thank you again for everything, we had a wonderful time. The condo was perfect we really appreciated having access to chairs and the snorkel gear. We had a wonderful holiday. Very relaxing. Your snorkel recommendations were awesome. We liked swimming with the turtles right here at Kamaole II the best. It was wonderful to watch the whales from the lanai. Feb 2009 - D402 - Hello Linda and Kathy, Thank you, Linda, for your phone message this morning- we were at the Maui Ocean Centre, very interesting! Once in a while circumstances work out better than expected and this trip have been one of those life circumstances. The condo was even nicer and better equipped than expected, the grounds and location of the Kihei Akahi were ideal and lovely, and of course Maui is a most beautiful place- a real paradise. Please extend our thanks to the Harris' for the gorgeous roses for Valentine's Day and the yummy fruit basket from Maui Vision for our anniversary! December 2008 – C618 - Aloha Kathy, As usual, it is great to be back here, it was like walking into a 'home away from home. The beer in the fridge was the best thing. The day's travels all forgotten, sitting on the lanai, drinking my 'Longboards,' eating fresh Maui pineapple. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaah, such a life. Thank you for the fruit basket, it is always appreciated & well used. Yummy coffee & cookies. My oldest son & his wife are here for their 1st time & they also think that they are in Paradise. Hope that you are well, again, thank you for the fruit basket & the beer. I forgot to mention that I love the new colors, they look terrific. The side by side fridge with the ice dispenser is also invaluable. There was quite a storm a few days ago, thankfully the power didn't go out. September 2008 – C618 - Dear Kathy, It has been a long time from my summer vacation. In Japan, it became colder nowadays. I really love snow boarding, so I'm waiting for snow...I remember the days in Maui. It was very nice. I enjoyed everything! I stayed comfortably thanks to your condo. Besides, you provided that cheaper than the regular price. As my gratitude, I will send you this Japanese wash clothes. Which is yu-zen dying. These are very convenient and functional. In Maui I really enjoyed the life. First, I went to Krispy Kreme (there are some shops too in Japan. It appeared a few years ago) and Safeway to buy things we need in Maui life but before that, Hawaiian Air lost our baggage. Our 2 suitcases went to Hawaii. We didn't like to wait so we had our baggage delivered to our condo. We went to the beaches everyday. Some of the days sharks appeared. We couldn't enter the sea for more than 4 hours. I sometimes surfed (but little waves in the summer), sometimes we went shopping at the Farmer's Market and swap meet. This year, we challenged driving to Hana. It's a little far from Kihei, but it was really wonderful and scenic way. We got avocados!!! It was wild one. There was an avocado tree and my friend found it. There was some tiny trouble but there were all nice memories! Thanks a lot xxx - Mimi.
Sept 08 – C618 - We are back safely from our trip to Maui and Oahu and just wanted to say how much we enjoyed staying in C618 at the Kihei Akahi! It's a nice quiet place to kick back, relax and listen to the sounds of the birds and the ocean. We explored the island thoroughly and got some great snorkeling in at the Ahihi Kinau Preserve. We did the Highway to Hana and the sunrise on Haleakala. Yes, we were busy! We came back to cold temperatures and some rain. Wish we were back on Maui. May 2008 – C618 – This was our first time visiting Maui, and we loved it! The weather was great, the temperature was perfect and the beaches were beautiful. We had lots that we wanted to do, and we managed to squeeze it all in during the week that we were here. It was so nice to be able to come back to the condo after our various activities and have a place of our own to relax and cook a meal. We spent a lot of time on the balcony admiring the view. The condo was great and very well stocked; we especially appreciated the beach chairs, snorkels, boogie boards, and the cooler. Thanks for the great place Kathy. – Karin and Chris
May 2008 - D402 - I just wanted to drop you a quick line to let you know how much we enjoyed our stay in Kihei Akahi condo D402. It was wonderful, absolutely perfect for my daughter and I. We hope you had a Happy Easter, ours was great.
It has just taken so long to get things back to normal
Mostly we want to thank you for such a lovely condo in Kehei. We were very
pleasantly surprised,
especially after a less than ideal one in Honolulu. I am hoping that you
will pass on our thanks to the
owners. We were very taken with the Asian decor --- such a departure from
the usual.
The fruit and goodies basket was a wonderful welcome surprise !! Thank
you both, it was very generous and kind, and we greatly appreciated it.
All in all we had a superlative Hawaiian vacation, with a few
highlights...not the least was the Maui part.
As always the whale watching is a favourite of ours. The lanai gave us a
great view . We kept our
binoculars at the ready all day and were not disappointed with the viewing.
This is also the first time we have ventured up Haleakala and WOW !!!
We were also lucky enough to get to the Pan Pacific Soccer Championship
games, much to the envy
of Ann's older brothers (and as a bonus we got to see David Beckham play!)
It is now back to reality...it snowed a little this morning, now the sun
is out, but so is the wind.
Next week promises to be warmer or should I say less cold. The dog was
very glad to have us home
and we have waded through the pile of mail etc. The tans are fading ( I
reckon the fading starts as soon
as you step on the plane ) Hopefully it will not be 9 years before the
next time.

We had a wonderful time and it was everything that we had hoped for. We grew to really enjoy and prefer the location on the island that you chose to purchase your condo in. It felt more like a neighborhood than a highly commercialized area, yet it was easily driveable to other locations. We really enjoyed the extras that having a condo provided us with over having a hotel room. We really enjoyed Maui and all of the recreational activities available. Feb 2008 – C616 - Aloha Kathy, Just back from a wonderful month in Maui. We had a great time and the weather was beautiful. Couldn't believe the whales this year, they were exciting to watch from the lanai. I was wondering what you have available for January 30/09 to February 28/09? We stayed in Don Albers place and it worked out fine. As you know we usually stay at your place, but I know it is booked at these times. Would Don's place be available for next year? Feb 2008 – C606 Thank you so much! We could have left our camera a number of places that day and we've accepted that it's probably gone. We are just using that as an excuse to revisit all the places so we can take another set of photos! I would have loved to send you some pictures of us in the condo cooking. One of our favorite days was the hike around Haleakala. Thank you again to the Carvers! We just loved the space and the zen appeal of the bamboo! It was perfect for my yoga practice. It was the perfect change of pace from our hectic lives in New York City. The decor captured the essence of island life and the peaceful escape we were seeking. We especially enjoyed the short walk right down to the beach to watch the whales jump out of the ocean. The views were breathtaking and created the romantic atmosphere we desired. We cooked most evenings in the wonderful kitchen and savored our Hawaiian inspired meals with some wine on the lanai. We are looking for a short term opportunity in mid July. The timing worked out perfect for the hiring for the schools but he might not know for sure which school he will be working at until closer to the beginning of the school year. Therefore we're looking for something for July and August and will then look for something more permanent after Labor Day. If you hear of anything in Kihei that is available please let us know. We really like this area best and thought it was centralized for both of us. We're coming with two suitcases each and that's it! I'm so excited. Mahalo for all your efforts! I appreciate everyone's help in building our future together. It was a time we will never forget. We really enjoyed our stay. I will definitely recommend the place to stay for friends and family! May 2007-C618-Aloha, It's hard to believe that we've been back from our trip to Maui for a little over a week now. We just wanted to tell you what a wonderful time we had. Thank you so much for the wonderful basket of treats that you sent us. We have never tasted pineapple so good. The condo had all the comforts of home. We absolutely loved sitting on the lanai every morning overlooking the ocean, and the evenings were just beautiful. We were very impressed at how well maintained the grounds were. It was a real treat to just walk down the driveway to the beach. Kathy, thank you so much for allowing us to check out later in the day. You have no idea how that eased things up at our end. We had so many wonderful experiences during our stay. Some of the highlights were the beautiful beaches, The Feast at Lele (on my birthday), a secretly planned massage and facial by Christian, shopping at Lahaina, watching the surfers at Ho'okipa. We ate some wonderful food. To name a few, Mama's Fish House was outstanding, the local fare at Hana Hou cafe, Fish Tacos at Alexanders, and of course Shave Ice. I could go on and on, but I'd have to write a novel. Needless to say, we had a wonderful trip and we will be back. never go the same place twice (cuz there's just so much wonderful to see in this world), but we are already planning our next trip. We loved the condo, and felt that the price was excellent! We also loved that
location, and after seeing the whole island , would return there again, without a doubt. We really liked the atmosphere, beaches, lack of high-rises, etc. I also really appreciated all the info you sent about the area - I had done quite a bit of "research " myself, but your info was a delightful extra - for example - finding "Little Beach" thru that small gate in that wall was like a miracle I will not soon forget. I have since dreamed again about the beauty of that beach- that was certainly a very special find. I thank you for that one!! Anyway, we just really could not have asked for more - we spent our days in a perfect combo of activities, and just beaching! We saw Hana, Upcountry,Lahaina, and at least 15 different beaches. We visited w/ many different people, which my family enjoyed. We did an all day whale cruise and snorkeled at Molokini and Lanai. Our daughters got to swim w/ the sea turtles and see lots of whales. We also saw lots of surfers, gorgeous waves, beaches beyond compare, sunsets, and the aquarium. All told, we did about half of what we had planned, so we'll just have to go back! Once we were there, we quickly realized, that we had to slow down, and just look, and b-r-e-a-t-h-e- too! I cannot thank you enough for it all. Aloha Kathy, We arrived home safely on March 7th after a wonderful vacation in Hawaii. Thank you so much for the rental of your condo. We used the beach chairs, cooler, umbrella, etc. Everything was so handy. I wish we could have spent the last two days there also. I left a vase of Hawaiian flowers on the dining room table. We had bought them along the road on our way to Hanna and enjoyed them for our remaining time at the condo. I left a note for them to be enjoyed. The weather was perfect the whole 10 days we were in Hawaii. Went snorkeling and whale watching and bumming everyday. The high speed Catamaran we went out on one day was wet and wild. I made the mistake of sitting in the front and the misty waves were ok but I didn't like seeing a 12 foot wave coming at me as we were coming down from a 6 foot wave. Death grip on the seat probably kept me from being washed out to sea. Everyone in the front was wet from head to toe. Ate at Roy's in Kihei, which was excellent. Dessert to die for. Those are usually the busiest times everywhere and we have to book our tickets well in advance. Well we finally got home yesterday We had a great time in Maui and the condo was perfect for our purposes, close to everything, and very affordable. Aloha Kathy, Tomorrow is our last day. We have been very happy here in Maui and also your condo. Maui is such a beautiful island. Went round the island for an hour in a helicopter, visit to Lahaina, snorkeling cruise, lots of barbecues and meals out and of course the wedding at the Grand Wailea chapel. The wedding was perfect, absolutely beautiful and the reception at the Sea Watch restaurant watching sunset was a dream come true. We didn't get chance to cycle down the volcano, the Hanna road and the Sugar Cane train amongst other things but we will definitely be back in a couple of years.
